Anxiety
Anxiety
is part of our natural defensive system --“ a close cousin to
fear". Anxiety
is an extremely necessary mechanism, without anxiety we would be
at risk. Anxiety
is often triggered by stress in our lives. Let's face it: Stress is an
inescapable part of modern living, and anxiety is a normal
reaction to the constant tension in our lives. Actually, some anxiety is healthy
and helps to provide needed motivation. But for some people anxiety
becomes overwhelming and may interfere with the normal functioning of
life. Experts believe that a significant change in your behavior may be
a sign that your anxiety
is overwhelming you. The good news is that social anxiety is
very treatable, and you may not even need medication to treat it.
Often mistaken for serious physical problems, symptoms of a panic
attack, or anxiety
symptoms, are hard to accept for some. Physical anxiety symptoms and
stress related complaints are a common problem for many people. New
medications are currently being tested or are under development to
treat anxiety symptoms.
The truth is that exercise is one of the best tools you have to turn
the tables on your anxiety
symptoms. Self-help and relaxation techniques also play an
important role in relieving anxiety
symptoms. Gentle exercises that encourage relaxation, such
as meditation or yoga or Tai-Chi, may be helpful in reducing anxiety symptoms.
Anxiety
attacks are an issue that plagues individuals from time to
time. Anxiety attacks
are when you start feeling like jumping out of your skin, your heart
starts racing, you start sweating. You feel uneasy and may have light
physical symptoms like an irritable stomach but for the most part anxiety attacks have
little physical symptoms. Stress is a big contributor to anxiety attacks, but
the possibilities are truthfully endless. These anxiety attacks can
range from mild discomfort to debilitating agoraphobia and this is a
condition that can strike anyone. It is also important to understand
that panic and anxiety
attacks can actually be linked to your body's rather
natural response to danger. Clearly, the evidence shows that by taking
on a healthier lifestyle, you can reduce if not eliminate your anxiety attacks.
Millions of people around the world suffer from Social Anxiety Disorder
(also known as Social Phobia) and related conditions. Social anxiety disorder
(social phobia) affects 7-8% of the population at any given time.
Social anxiety disorder
is defined as the fear (anxiety) of being judged, criticized, and
evaluated by other people. People with Social Anxiety Disorder may
find it difficult to make new friends and to date, and they may find
career opportunities limited by their anxiety. People with social anxiety may
have specific panic attacks / anxiety
attacks in situations where they feel they may embarrass
themselves in some way. People suffering from social anxiety are
often called 'shy', but shyness does not necessarily indicate an
anxiety disorder. But we now know that many "shy" people actually have
"Social Anxiety Disorder.
Anxiety
is an extremely necessary mechanism, without anxiety we would be
at risk. Test anxiety is an issue that many students face at one time
or another. Anxiety
is a normal part of our existence. If anxiety is stopping
you enjoying life, you can get treatment. Please don't let your mind
fool you into thinking your anxiety
